In conjunction with the new Batman movie The Dark Knight, Nokia has released a special edition of their Nokia 6205 model especially for fans of the movie.  Rebranded as the Nokia 6205 Dark Knight Edition, the phone is packed with various features that might appeal to Batman lovers.

Like the original Nokia 6205, this “new edition” comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera, VZ Navigator, Mobile Web, Bluetooth and a 58MB internal memory. The phone retails at US69.99, which is certainly affordable for a touched-up phone.

Mio has added to its range of GPS-equipped mobile phones with a device running the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system. The Leap G50 has quad-band GSM connectivity, a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, two megapixel camera with LED flash and geotagging, and Bluetooth 2.0, Mio says. Featuring a black body ringed by a shiny bezel, the Leap G50 sports styling somewhat reminiscent of Apple’s first-generation iPhone. However, its 2.8-inch touchscreen display occupies proportionately less of the front than the iPhone’s, delivering QVGA (320 x 240) resolution.

The G50 offers quad-band (850, 900, 1800, and 1900MHz) GSM connectivity and Bluetooth 2.0, though it does not include 802.11-based wireless networking. A two-megapixel camera has autofocus and LED flash, and automatic “geotagging” of images with the latitude and longitude where they were taken is also supported. According to Mio, the Leap G50 will be available to the Asian market initially during the third quarter of this year. Pricing was not provided.

Now who would guess that using a cell phone all the time can cause men to become infertile? According to a study:

Spending hours on a cell phone each day may affect the quality of a man’s sperm, preliminary research suggests. In a study of 361 men seen at their infertility clinic, researchers at the Cleveland Clinic found an association between the patients’ cell phone use and their sperm quality. On average, the more hours the men spent on their cell phones each day, the lower their sperm count and the greater their percentage of abnormal sperm.

The findings, published in the journal Fertility and Sterility, add to questions about the potential health effects of cell phones and other wireless devices. Some studies, for example, have linked long-term cell phone use to a higher risk of brain tumors, though many other studies have found no such connection. The concern is that, over time, the electromagnetic energy emitted from mobile phones could theoretically harm body tissue — by damaging DNA, for example.

The report goes on to say that the result is not yet conclusive, but who is going to take the chances of that? Unless, of course, if you don’t want kids in the first place.
